Frequently Asked Question's

Please read below to see if your question has already been answered.

Can you improve the picture quality, audio or color of my DVD or CD?

The short answer is no. The process of duplicating DVDs, CDs and Flash Media is an absolute cloning process. You will get back exact copies of your media or disc. If your disc is having any trouble playing – DON’T SEND IT TO US FOR DUPLICATION.

Through editing, noise reduction, TBC color enhancement etc., a DVD can be improved for an additional cost but our duplication prices do not include such changes or improvements.

Will your duplication copies lose any of the original quality?

No again. The process of duplicating DVDs, CDs and Flash Media is an absolute cloning process. You will get back exact copies of your media or disc with no loss of quality.

TOP

Why do you burn your discs at 1X and 2.4X record speeds for DVD-R and DVD+R DL?

Currently, DVDs are rated at 8X and 16X burn speed. We have found that those fast burn speeds introduce undesirable laser path artifacts that are related to faster burn speeds. Slow burn speeds turn out a superior quality disc that is far more reliable. So while we could save time and money by burning at the faster speeds, product reliability is more important than making a few extra cents.

Why are “check discs” so important and why should I wait for a check disc before ordering?

If you’ve done your home work and thoroughly checked the playback reliability of your master disc on several DVD/CD players and several computers, then check discs are just a last-look assurance. Frankly check discs are more important to the duplication house because that is how we protect ourselves and prevent burning and printing and packaging hundreds of discs that, for any reason, have not been checked by you and are potentially flawed.

TOP

What if I’m past my deadline and don’t have time to approve a check disc?

Buyer beware. DVDs4Less will make every effort to insure that your program is copied correctly but DVDs4Less WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY, ACCURACY, OR MANNER OF SERVICE PROVIDED FOR DUPLICATION OF ANY PROGRAM THAT HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED BY THE CLIENT WITH A CHECK DISC, EVEN IF DVDs4Less HAS MADE OR MAKES AN ERROR IN ANY ASPECT OF ITS SERVICE.

TOP

Why must I sign your AUTHORIZATION AGREEMENT before you will process my order?

The AUTHORIZATION AGREEMENT is for your protection and our protection. It makes you check and double check the reliability of your disc before sending it to us for duplication. It forces you to proof read your graphics for accuracy and recheck your work order.

The AUTHORIZATION AGREEMENT is also our official notice to you that we will not reprocess your order because of a design mistake with your graphics, your spelling, your colors, your errors and omissions or with your original disc as provided by you to us for duplication.

What happens if DVDs4Less makes a mistake in the duplication, printing, packaging or any other processing aspect of my order which might be beyond my control?

Hypothetically, let’s say you send us a program on horse breeding and we send you back a video about duck hunting in the Amazon. Or let’s say you send us that same horse breeding program and we send you back your horse breeding copies but the labels are printed with a graphic about duck hunting in the Amazon? Or maybe you order thin jewel cases and we send you standard jewel cases. Then what? DVDs4Less reserves the right to correct any inconsistency in our service to you. Please see our WARRANTY STATEMENT for details.

TOP

What happens if I send you a tape instead of a master disc?

You will incur a one-time transfer fee which covers the duplication of your tape to a DVD master. That’s the bad news. The good news is that we will burn your program master at 1X speed on our proprietary burning stations and create an exceptional master disc. The down side to this is that DVDs4Less will re  re you to approve a “check disc” before we proceed with any duplication - NO EXCEPTIONS!

TOP

What if I want faster shipping service than you provide with your Free Shipping?

DVDs4Less pays the full cost of ground shipping on any wholesale order of twenty (20) or more discs. We will be happy to expedite your order via any common carrier such as UPS, FedEx, DHL at the full cost price to you for such expedited shipping.

TOP

What is regional coding and do you do it to your DVD copies?

Regional coding is an attempt to limit the playback capability of DVDs in foreign countries. We DO NOT offer regional coding on our DVDs.

TOP

How do I protect my DVD content from being pirated or stolen?

There are several protection software codecs that can somewhat protect a DVD from being pirated. These codecs are offered for an additional cost by large-run replicators on orders of 1000 discs or more. DVDs4Less does not offer any protection software on its disc copies.

TOP

How can I track my order and how will I know when it is shipped?

We offer tracking on all shipped orders. You will be notified when your order is received in house and when it is shipped back to you.

TOP

Do you offer any insurance in case the shipment is lost?

Unless you instruct otherwise, DVDs4Less makes and stores one duplicate disc copy of all jobs including print graphics. These duplicate copies are kept in the vault for sixty (60) days after the day your order is shipped back to you by DVDs4Less at no charge to the customer. If your shipment is lost or destroyed we still have a protection copy so the job can be reproduced quickly. After sixty (60) days, the protection copy is purged from the vault and discarded. Then, it is taken to the local target shooting range, launched like a clay pidgin and disposed of with a shotgun. Just kidding. The short answer is YES, WE CAN OFFER INSURANCE IF YOU WANT IT AT AN ADDITIONAL COST.

How can you have been in business since 1967 before DVDs were even invented?

Caught that did you? Well, our family-owned broadcast production company began in 1967 shooting 16mm and 35mm motion picture film. Later in 1979, we migrated to broadcast video production and post production. Today, we have every broadcast & consumer video format (including a 2” quad machine!) and an array of broadcast cameras. Please see more about our company listed under the ABOUT US link.

TOP

Will you mix audio tracks, add or remove audio or video to or from my duplication master?

No. You are completely responsible for the content of your duplication master. DVDs4Less make copies and will not change editorial content, even if we recognize an error in such content.

Why don't you put more than two hours on a DVD?

Just like a VHS tape that’s recorded in extended play, A DVD can also record more than 2 hours. Sorry but we won’t do that. Reason? Any time you exceed two hours on a DVD the quality of the picture and sound deteriorates noticeably. We don’t want to turn out inferior DVD copies so we have set a 2-hour limit of program time on all our standard DVD-R recordings.

Why don't you provide a shopping cart?

Let’s answer by speaking as though we were the customer who needs DVD & CD copies or a film transfer. The last thing I’d want to do is send off my valuable program and graphics - sight unseen, to any company over the internet. I mean, you’re not buying pre-packaged candy bars here or a cheeseburger & fries. Your projects are extremely important and timely. You want to know that you’re getting a clean, fault-free disc with nice graphics and packaging, printed just the way YOU want and delivered on YOUR deadline just the way YOU expect it. Oh. One more thing. I’d want to speak with a warm person on the other end that would answer all my questions and call me every day with updates until the job was shipped. That is the reason we do not just “take your money” over the internet with a shopping cart. We need to understand what you want and what you need. You? You need to know that you are getting precisely what you expect from our company.
